Just got back and finished editing photos from UC’s Spring PAC concert. PAC is the programs & Activities Council. Every year they throw a big free concert out on Sigma Sigma commons and have musical guests like T-Pain and Ludacris. This year was different, for one, I actually went, for two, They had Kendrick Lamar and Big Boi (from Outkast) come out to perform for us, and three, I got an “All-Access” pass from the newspaper. Boom!
I’m not entirely sure why this assignment got passed down to me, but I’m not gonna complain. I got my fancy badge to start my collection (the kind you see a lot of experience photographers carry around like a giant rolodex on a lanyard). It was really cool though, I was able to shoot the first three songs from both performers and stand in that area between the fence blocking off the ravenous and very inebriated crowd and the rough tough anti-crowd surfing bouncers guarding the stage. I feel like any opportunity I got to flash my badge I pretty much took with a smile and a slight wave of my pass. It was grand.
So in case you missed it or don’t go to UC, here are some of my top pics from both artists.
It was a lot of fun and definitely a good middle-point to a busy weekend. I still have to finish a video for church tomorrow, then I have a gig in the morning, and then I’m going to shoot a dance competition for a class assignment, and finally Fuse is putting on a worship service in the evening. Fuse is basically a group dedicated to linking all of the Christian groups on campus into one big church. It’s pretty legit and it’ll be a great way to end the day.
So much to do, so little time! I’ll try to get back to you all soon though. Thanks for reading, folks.
